Where do you accept or publish your online reviews?

There are so many places for reviews these days and none of the platforms can be integrated with each other. Between Google, Facebook, Linked In, Yelp, Angie's List and others we all know that online reviews can help tremendously, but you also have to be consistent so that people leave reviews in a concentrated area...or do you?

I personally feel that reviews are more credible when they are left somewhere that you can't manipulate. I remember having this conversation years ago on the old forum back before any of these review options existed or anyone knew about them. Then, everyone just put client testimonials and reviews on their website and I always questioned the credibility of them then.

Now there are too many options.

Of those of you who have reviews posted online, outside of your website, which platform do you find to be the most effective for you?
When asking for reviews where do you direct people to leave them?

Buying out another shareholder in a private limited company

Hello,

I have a small business and there is one other shareholder apart from me. He would like to be bought out. I do not have the money. However the business has some reserves and is expected to make a profit in the coming months. He has asked for this to be used to buy him out.

The money will come from the company account but he will sell his share to me.

Is this legal or not? The company paying him off and I getting full ownership of it. No money will come from my personal account.

If it is not appropriate please suggest other ways in which he can be released from the firm.

Your assistance and advice in this matter will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Potential IRS problem - am I paying myself correctly?

Please go easy on me. I started my first business 2 years ago and I've done it all on my own with absolutely no help. I thought I was doing things correctly until I recently realized I may not be paying myself the right way AT ALL. It's an S Corp and my CPA at that time set it all up for me. Basically, my understanding when I spoke to her was that if I have no employees, I can simply pay myself with a check and call it a day. So no W2 or anything. Just give myself a check and when I do my tax returns, she can report my income on Schedule K-1 of the 1120S forum (which I don't understand completely), and the profit there gets transferred to my personal 1040.

For tax year 2013, I ended at -$10,000 for the business (a lot on the startup/construction/etc.) so I actually got money back from the IRS when that transferred to my 1040.

For tax year 2014, I had a $60,000 profit on Schedule K-1, and that transferred onto my 1040. I had a different CPA this time and he also said no need to worry about not having any W2s or anything like that. But this time, I have to pay the IRS because of my profit. I set up an installment plan and got a letter from them agreeing to what I asked for under certain conditions. One of the conditions states: "You file on time all federal and state tax returns due during the term of this agreement. Federal income tax is a pay-as-you-go tax. You must pay the tax as you earn or receive income during the year in one of three ways: Withholding, Estimated Tax Payments, and Federal Tax Deposits" and then it goes on to explain each of the different ways. So I have 2 questions:

1. Is the way my CPAs have instructed me to pay myself fine or incorrect?

2. Does that statement above from the IRS flat out mean that they have to see taxes coming in from me during whole I'm on this installment plan or else they can stop it? Or is that just a general statement they put stating that I have to pay taxes?

I appreciate any help I can get.

Working on Project for School, Need Direction..

Hello everyone, I'm working on a project for school and was hoping to get a little direction from someone.

Basically we were given a business idea and we need to explain why it is or isn't a good idea. The idea that I was given was an idea for a website where items are pulled from numerous online retailers for side by side comparison and shopping (Like Wal-Mart, Amazon, Ikea, random local retailers). Where I'm looking for guidance is I'm not exactly sure where to find the legalities of such a venture. Would these retailers allow another company to list their goods? (doubt it). Will I need to investigate each of them to find their policies on such situations? Also what laws prohibit it (I'm assuming some sort of property violation)?

Thanks for the help in advance, I figured this would be a good place to find some answers.
