Starting an inventory system

Hi all,

I have a medical supply company and currently have no inventory system. I have hundreds of thousands of dollars in inventory but no way of keeping track. (Stupid, I know)...So where would you suggest I begin?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Especially the detailed ones
