One year into my business, and still no idea what to expect.

Hi. I'm new here. My husband and I started a business a year ago, and I'm having a hard time gauging where we should be. For the past several months we've basically been breaking even, with a little profit some months. Neither of us are taking an income yet, but we will need to start doing so soon. I don't know if we're really behind the curve where we a year in or if this is fairly common. I know you can't tell me what to expect with my business, but if you don't mind letting me know where you were a year into your business and how quickly it progressed for you. I just love hearing other people's experiences and what they felt made them successful or not.
