I should do a case study on the top/startup business models in the world and how they are marketing their brand. A lot of effort has been put in marketing but a lot have failed. I want to utilize internet marketing without going too much into social media. My concern is privacy when it comes to social media. Also there is the danger of exposing the wrong information, which can be damaging to your brand.

Revised Garbage collection idea
me as the service supplier would offer the customer a wireless sensored dumpster that would then adjoin a routing program that would show me on the computer/ tablet /iPhone whatever all of my bins that are full and about to become full that are ready for pick up. It would then route the most fuel efficient way of picking up these bins and bringing to dump station via gps.
- I would bill the customer a monthly or quarterly flat rate.
service packages include : 2yd package : for gas stations, dr offices, ect ( with cost estimation of picking up the dumpster once per wee

Finding new businesses that just opened
Is there a way to find a list of new businesses that just registered either in state or county ? Im a garbage company that wants to offer dumpster service for other businesses. For example how did verizon get my business adress not even a week after i registered with the state? I want that list too haha. Thanks everyone

Hey guys,
I started a mall kiosk business just this past Wednesday selling teddy bears that transform into balls. They are a very high quality product. I buy the bears for about $10.43 each and I tried selling them for $29.99, but have reduced the price to $24.99 since. On Wednesday I had no sales. On Thursday I had two sales. On Friday I lowered the price to $24.99 and had one sale. On Saturday I had eight sales. On Sunday (today) I had zero sales. My rent at the mall is a total of $20,667 for Sep 23 - January 31. This means that I need to sell 11 bears per day in order to break even. I am nowhere close to that. I am at one of the highest traffic malls in the US and at a pretty good location. I basically stand there all day transforming the bear into a ball over and over. The children love it, but the parents just aren't buying. I borrowed some money from my parents to start this up and so far I've only paid through October. November, December, and January have not been paid for yet. My parents are disappointed in me and I am disappointed in myself. I thought I knew what I was doing, but I guess not. I put the bears up on EBay too, but people aren't buying. I never thought I would ever consider doing something to harm myself, but now those thoughts and feelings are creeping in my head. I come from a family that doesn't have a lot of money and I don't know what to do now. If I don't pay the rent for November and I get booted out of the mall, will I go to jail? What would happen? A week ago I was so optimistic about this idea and starting up, and now I am thinking of jumping off a building.

Multiple small ventures
Hello, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this..
I have a few etsy shops with different names (and product types) and am preparing to add an online store with an additional name and completely different products. My question is about my shipping and merchant accounts; I am searching for a system that will allow me to have one account on my end but switch between multiple accounts when I make a sale so that the customer is charged from the brand they are buying. Or should I just use my umbrella LLC name?
Eventually the little shops will merge into one boutique but for now I was keeping them separate in case one flops and or one soars.

Ah the gray areas...
So some potential investments in your business are common sense, some can be decided based on existing numbers. But then there are things like updating decor, the limitless options for marketing, what you are going to pay your employees and what degree of talent that will attract.
How do you deal with these? I am new to multi-unit QSR management and the best solution I can come to is to still rely on that common sense and then also when possible make changes to one store at a time and see how much of a difference it makes. Visit the competition and see how it feels to dine there.

Will Amazon's $50 tablet change the market?
I've had probably 4 different tablets over the years and currently don't have a working one at all.
Even when I had "full featured" tablets, I generally only used them as readers..to sit on the couch or take with me to read blogs and such.
Never had a Kindle, but I'm already a prime member and reviews on it have been great since the launch, so I'll probably get at least one at this price. $50 and it has an SD card slot, kind of a no brainier if you just want a reader and do some basic web stuff. I mean do I really need a 4K display and tons of on board storage just to read stuff?
Just wondering if anyone else will be jumping on it, and do you think this will force other main stream makers to come out with cheaper tablets for people like me who aren't looking for a "laptop replacement"?
By the way, I know it's not lost on most of you that Star Trek was the first to envision the tablet reader/communication device like so many other things that we have today :)

young person trying to gauge co owners intentions, please help!
hey all!
i was recently approached by my store manager asking if i would be interested in opening a franchise chain with her and another partner...i have worked my butt off and earned recognition from the higher ups at this franchise. she happened to know that i do have access to some serious funds for a 19 year old.
we get along great at work, and outside of work. and she has never tried anything fishy with me every before. i know my worth and i know i would be ready to co-own a business. solo i would not be doing too well, i can admit that. i simply dont have enough experience to feel comfy on a solo risk like this. but the very first thing that came to mind was "most people dont mess with 19 year olds with this kind of stuff. what if im being played for some funding, and what would the profit cuts look like?"
so i asked a few brief questions, i was told profits would be split up evenly, 1/3 1/3 1/3. i was happy with that.
but i dont feel comfortable asking someone who could be giving me a real shot, if they just need me for money. that seems distasteful to me, especially someone i have a good current relationship with.
1: in all likely hood, from what i have mentioned, am i being used?
2: is this a chance i should jump on ether way?
3: what are some KEY things i should keep my eyes out for during the finalization of the paper work, and any other details?
4: best course of action if i feel like something is sketchy?

I started a waste managment co . My idea for picking up dumpsters would be to place a sensor in the dumpster that would tell me when dumpster was full . And charge the custumer per pickup. This would prevent the dumpster from being picked up to early or to late and it being over flowing. Would any current business owners use this system?

How to deal with annoying "regulars" that never buy anything.....
I've got a situation that is growing more and more annoying each day. An elderly man comes in every morning to my small store and wants to talk and sit idle... he NEVER buys anything (the one time he bought something I had to refund him the next day). To make matters worse he's vulgar and constantly chews tobacco and spits in a plastic cup.... He also can't keep from handling everything within reach on the counters. I can't just tell him to get lost because: A: He's elderly, B: He's crippled and in a motorized wheelchair, and C: He's the kind that would make sure to tell everyone in town I threw him out because he's old and wheelchair bound and any other lies he thinks up. In other words, I wish he'd just stay home!
It's become to the point where I can write off the first 2 hours of each day because I know he's going to discourage paying customers and annoy me enough to keep me from working. To make matters worse, he'll spill his nasty spit cup about every three days and his wheelchair has caused damage to every counter and doorway in the store....
What am I to do? The best strategy I've been able to come up with is to just say "hi" and then try to look really busy, but even then he'll sit for about an hour before leaving. I also tried to tell him one day that I was just busy and couldn't talk, and that didn't go well.... and he about broke my door with his power chair when leaving in anger.. but started coming back about three days later. I'm at the point where I can feel my blood pressure go up when he starts wheeling in..... How do you deal with people like that? Developer & Marketer Partnership Challenge!
Hey guys,
My best friend and I have registered a business which for me it will be a second job and for him, in fact a third one!
What we are going to do is providing IT consulting and solutions, including development of web apps, online reports, mobile apps, database, etc. for other businesses. As I am new comer to business (my friend is a more professional), I feel like I am in a disagreement with his view on how to share work & profit, and that is why I feel like I need some help.
He is a marketer, no IT knowledge, he is the one making connections and finding the projects. I am the one with all the development, coding, maintenance, technical support, server setup, etc. knowledge. So obviously given that each IT project can vary between 50 to 500 hours of work (A to Z) and needs ongoing technical support afterwards, the amount of work each of us will do is not even comparable. For example, so far he has had a few meetings trying to make connections, not exceeding 10 hours and I have already done around 200 hours of work setting up servers, developing a first small project, researching the best practices, etc.
Now his idea of sharing is out of a projects profit, each person takes "some" money based in the number of hours of his contribution, and then there will be "some" money left which goes to the business itself, on a 50-50 basis; which leads to question 1: Shouldn't the part that goes to the business be also shared on a contribution ratio basis, rather than 50-50?
Question 2, if I myself find a connection, get a project, and deliver it, am I entitled to the 100% of income of that project?? if not, why?

My best friend and I have registered a business which for me it will be a second job and for him, in fact a third one!
What we are going to do is providing IT consulting and solutions, including development of web apps, online reports, mobile apps, database, etc. for other businesses. As I am new comer to business (my friend is a more professional), I feel like I am in a disagreement with his view on how to share work & profit, and that is why I feel like I need some help.
He is a marketer, no IT knowledge, he is the one making connections and finding the projects. I am the one with all the development, coding, maintenance, technical support, server setup, etc. knowledge. So obviously given that each IT project can vary between 50 to 500 hours of work (A to Z) and needs ongoing technical support afterwards, the amount of work each of us will do is not even comparable. For example, so far he has had a few meetings trying to make connections, not exceeding 10 hours and I have already done around 200 hours of work setting up servers, developing a first small project, researching the best practices, etc.
Now his idea of sharing is out of a projects profit, each person takes "some" money based in the number of hours of his contribution, and then there will be "some" money left which goes to the business itself, on a 50-50 basis; which leads to question 1: Shouldn't the part that goes to the business be also shared on a contribution ratio basis, rather than 50-50?
Question 2, if I myself find a connection, get a project, and deliver it, am I entitled to the 100% of income of that project?? if not, why?

Settiing Up Email
Email has chainged since I knew what I was doing.
In the past, using Thunderbird, I set up pop emails so that a number of emails could share a single folder. I have several work emails that I want to appear in the same folder. I also have personal emails and throw away emails which I want seperate.

I would say in about 90% of cases, I *hate* contacting customer service. It takes like 45 minutes to get a simple question answered. Utility companies are the worst, but others are pretty bad too.

Ways to capture leads with your blog posts?
The way i see it, and i may be wrong, but one of the main reasons to start a blog is to start capturing leads while providing amazing content. I think every blog post has to be extremely strategic. I think you cant give absolutely everything away, but offer the rest somewhere in the blog post via an opt in. What ways have you used your blog to gain traffic and leads?
People are crazy in politics
Sorry to make another post about politics, Harold Mansfield but I wanna share something and get some input c:. Okay, so tonight I went to my first political rally. For the past couple days I have really been looking into politics as a career choice for a couple of reasons. The first being I love politics, I've been interested in it way before business (I used to watch the news when i was in 1st grade just to find out what George W. Bush was doing). I also have my shared love for the business and investing world but I've been torn.
To be completely honest it's been kind of going back and forth in my mind for a very long time. Due to financial problems with Stacktron and reputable problems (we had a huge issue with this website because everyone, that has failed in web hosting, was making a hell storm that I'm 16, yet everyone successful defended me but whatever) I'm not really sure I'm going to be super involved with Stacktron anymore. We'll see, but that's not the point of this topic.
Anyways, I live in Maine, yes, but I also live right on the border from New Hampshire. In Rochester (about 20 minutes from my house) Donald Trump was running a political rally. I've always wanted to see one, and Donald Trump is an A-list celebrity. Plus I have an incredible amount of respect for him so I really wanted to meet him and see him in real life.
Well, I went to this rally. Holy hell it was culture shock. Now in Rochester, i know one of the members is from around here, but the high school is Spaulding High School. Well, a while ago they build a new school but due to the building sinking they moved everyone back to the old school and made the new school a community center. I got tickets online (they were free), and I showed up. After waiting for 20 minutes to get in we went into this huge gym (we sat about 8 rows away from him). I don't know if any of you have been to a political rally, if you haven't keep reading.
So we sit down and this guy sits next to me, he's an independent and we talk about politics and business. I told him I'm really deciding but I'm leaning over democratic, so he asked why I was a republican rally so I said it was because I really want to hear both sides and see Donald Trump. Well, he then said "well don't let anyone here find out you're democratic. That won't turn out well." That was red flag #1. I was with my dad at this thing, he's not political at all, but I needed a ride and he wanted to meet Trump too. So then this radio show host comes on the stage and is talking, it's very innocent. Nothing bad. Then the guest speakers start talking...
The first guy was a local veteran. He sh*t talked democrats, Obama, Obamacare, illegal immigrants, etc. throughout the whole speech and basically bloated about how amazing Trump is. The second was on the New Hampshire State Legislature. He also boasted about how Obama is the antichrist of America and whatever. I knew they were going to trash talk Democrats but it was absolutely out of hand. They sounded like a Comedy Central Roast. The third guy was a retired army guy for NH and he did the same but only worse than anyone else.
Anyways, we waited and then all of a sudden you see flashing lights. The song "we're not gonna take it" came on and Donald Trump came out. He started talking and whatever. He was saying how Bernie Sanders shouldn't be president (everyone would boo). Then he said "if you're a democrat please stand up". I was about to stand but the guy next to me pushed me down and said "if you want to leave alive do not stand up." Red flag #2. I thought this guy was like a borderline serial killer so I asked why. He promptly said "I'm guessing this is your first rally. These people take these elections super seriously." That's not even the worse part.
Now there's this guy with a huge beard. Donald is now answering questions so this guy legit starts quoting a bible verse on greed, money, etc. and then takes flowers and tries to walk towards Trump and throw them at him. Of course, the security intervened. Everyone around me was saying stuff like "he's gonna get his ass kicked" and "what a f'n piece of scum'. Then these guys started screaming something, they were super loud. I don't know what it was. You could tell Trump was getting really annoyed by them but he was trying to keep his cool. Then this guy literally grabs these screaming guys and literally starts a fight. They're screaming at eachother, pushing eachother, and the police are breaking it up. Of course, at the same time Trump isn't saying a word, he's kind like trying to keep his cool so he doesn't make it worse.
Donald is really an excellent speaker. I don't know if it was just me mesmerized of it being Donald Trump the billionaire or he's very good at talking. He made a lot of points and really made me question my democratic status. Even my dad is a full supporter of Trump now. He does have a ton of points, the fact he constantly makes international trades and really knows how this stuff works he could possibly make America rich again and make us a respected country again, but at the same time government really is kind of different than a company.
At the end of the day I just wanted to share my experience and get your input. I'm gonna go to all the candidate's rallies, both democrat and republican. Are all rallies really like this? People fighting and stuff?

Opening arcade business (Calling all business specialists and helpers)
Hello all,
First of all here is a little about me, and then we have my idea...
I moved from England to Portugal, in the UK I'm used to a lot of arcades and fun entertainment centers like bowling alleys and stuff, but when I moved to Portugal that was like unheard of. It's been now like 11 years I think I've lived here, and only places I've seen arcades are like tourist areas and yet You're lucky if you find them.
For the past 3 years since I Finished all my schooling my dad has been asking if I have any business ideas...at first I wanted to do a restaurant but in the small town I live it (Considered a city: Vila Nova De Santo Andre, Setubal, Portugal, for those curious)restaurants are everywhere, along with coffee shops, a rare thing is entertainment areas, we have a few bars but they only have snooker and after a while not only does it get expensive it gets boring. Coffee shops are everywhere too but expensive from a simple coca-cola being 1.20€ to a tiny coffee being 1€, a new shopping market opened and it has one of the cheapest little coffee shops in it a coke is only 0.60€ beating every other coffee shop out of the price range, YET it's not that pact, (Probably because it's located inside a shopping market). ANYWAY things like bowling, and arcades are things only found in the blinking capital of the country which is a 1h30min drive. So again, here is my plan:
There is this old quite big building, really unfinished only has a couple floors and a roof but it's big and in a really good kinda isolated open area, near a few residential and also near like some weird university that was built. it's kinda in the middle of an open field, and with that came the idea of nice room for parking and nice outdoor area, in this small town we also have A LOT of skaters, young and old, so I could probably add in a nice skate park (I'd ask a couple skaters to even design it for me so it's how they want it) but that would obviously add into insurance cost, but I don't think it'll be too bad would it?
Next would be the building itself, I obviously want an arcade, fun games like shooters and basketball hoop games along with fighters and some classic pac-man and ofcourse racers, prices would change between 1€-0.50€. You'd pay 1€ for games with long play time like racers, basketball and other games where the game playtime is long, and then games where there is a possibility of you having short play time, like Pac-man and the shooters, you'd pay only 0.50€ (Also good because shooters are what some people prefer) I'd have 1 security guard to keep things under control, and 1 standby guy to fix any mechanical or electrical problems with the machines. I think that would be enough for the staff. Would the arcade need it's own bathroom?
After that, I'd need something to attract people, something where people like parents could hang around while their kids had fun, so ofcourse a coffee shop with nice affordable prices, these however would have to be determined after spoken to suppliers to get a decent affordable price but also have some profit. So yeah, a coffee shop, nice prices, TV's with music/sports and free wifi (EVERYONE LOVES FREE WIFI), because with free wifi after a time people would want to drink and maybe eat while doing whatever. Staff for the coffee shop would be around 4-6 people, have it organized and flowing cuz a lot of coffee shops here are so unorganized your left waiting forever to get a simple drink. The staff would obviously have to been young and cute, don't wanna sound like a dick but let's be honest, that's what attracts people.
So, now we have outside skate park, indoor coffee shop and arcade, but yet I'm not bringing in as much as a could, sure arcades are fun but senior teens don't want to be in a arcade full of kids, so what about a small maybe 5-7 lane bowling alley?
The bowling alley: It would probably have to be even numbers so groups of people could fight off each other I guess, It'll have to have its own small bathroom (You don't want people to go off to the bathroom and have everyone wait on them to return[Something that happened to me once]) so yeah bowling alley, have like 2-3 people working at the little shoe thingy and also to keep things running incase balls got stuck or anything. Also add in like a soda machine, but a tad bit more expensive, a only a little bit that way if you didn't get a bit thirsty while playing you could get a quick coke or whatever you prefer.
So ok, now we have, outdoor skate park, indoor Arcade with a coffee shop and also a nice bowling alley. It does get hot here, and I mean really hot, the only 2 swimming pools are from neighboring towns, and mainly very clothing strict and indoor. There is an outdoor pool here but it's small and only at a coffee shop/bar, so, maybe add in a pool? But that would have to be a future project.
So far...that's all I've got thought up...any more ideas, feedback all is welcome, looking for honest answers. I am aware of the whole "Arcades are dead" thing but I'm pretty sure that's because they are JUST ARCADES and don't have anything else to do.
First of all here is a little about me, and then we have my idea...
I moved from England to Portugal, in the UK I'm used to a lot of arcades and fun entertainment centers like bowling alleys and stuff, but when I moved to Portugal that was like unheard of. It's been now like 11 years I think I've lived here, and only places I've seen arcades are like tourist areas and yet You're lucky if you find them.
For the past 3 years since I Finished all my schooling my dad has been asking if I have any business ideas...at first I wanted to do a restaurant but in the small town I live it (Considered a city: Vila Nova De Santo Andre, Setubal, Portugal, for those curious)restaurants are everywhere, along with coffee shops, a rare thing is entertainment areas, we have a few bars but they only have snooker and after a while not only does it get expensive it gets boring. Coffee shops are everywhere too but expensive from a simple coca-cola being 1.20€ to a tiny coffee being 1€, a new shopping market opened and it has one of the cheapest little coffee shops in it a coke is only 0.60€ beating every other coffee shop out of the price range, YET it's not that pact, (Probably because it's located inside a shopping market). ANYWAY things like bowling, and arcades are things only found in the blinking capital of the country which is a 1h30min drive. So again, here is my plan:
There is this old quite big building, really unfinished only has a couple floors and a roof but it's big and in a really good kinda isolated open area, near a few residential and also near like some weird university that was built. it's kinda in the middle of an open field, and with that came the idea of nice room for parking and nice outdoor area, in this small town we also have A LOT of skaters, young and old, so I could probably add in a nice skate park (I'd ask a couple skaters to even design it for me so it's how they want it) but that would obviously add into insurance cost, but I don't think it'll be too bad would it?
Next would be the building itself, I obviously want an arcade, fun games like shooters and basketball hoop games along with fighters and some classic pac-man and ofcourse racers, prices would change between 1€-0.50€. You'd pay 1€ for games with long play time like racers, basketball and other games where the game playtime is long, and then games where there is a possibility of you having short play time, like Pac-man and the shooters, you'd pay only 0.50€ (Also good because shooters are what some people prefer) I'd have 1 security guard to keep things under control, and 1 standby guy to fix any mechanical or electrical problems with the machines. I think that would be enough for the staff. Would the arcade need it's own bathroom?
After that, I'd need something to attract people, something where people like parents could hang around while their kids had fun, so ofcourse a coffee shop with nice affordable prices, these however would have to be determined after spoken to suppliers to get a decent affordable price but also have some profit. So yeah, a coffee shop, nice prices, TV's with music/sports and free wifi (EVERYONE LOVES FREE WIFI), because with free wifi after a time people would want to drink and maybe eat while doing whatever. Staff for the coffee shop would be around 4-6 people, have it organized and flowing cuz a lot of coffee shops here are so unorganized your left waiting forever to get a simple drink. The staff would obviously have to been young and cute, don't wanna sound like a dick but let's be honest, that's what attracts people.
So, now we have outside skate park, indoor coffee shop and arcade, but yet I'm not bringing in as much as a could, sure arcades are fun but senior teens don't want to be in a arcade full of kids, so what about a small maybe 5-7 lane bowling alley?
The bowling alley: It would probably have to be even numbers so groups of people could fight off each other I guess, It'll have to have its own small bathroom (You don't want people to go off to the bathroom and have everyone wait on them to return[Something that happened to me once]) so yeah bowling alley, have like 2-3 people working at the little shoe thingy and also to keep things running incase balls got stuck or anything. Also add in like a soda machine, but a tad bit more expensive, a only a little bit that way if you didn't get a bit thirsty while playing you could get a quick coke or whatever you prefer.
So ok, now we have, outdoor skate park, indoor Arcade with a coffee shop and also a nice bowling alley. It does get hot here, and I mean really hot, the only 2 swimming pools are from neighboring towns, and mainly very clothing strict and indoor. There is an outdoor pool here but it's small and only at a coffee shop/bar, so, maybe add in a pool? But that would have to be a future project.
So far...that's all I've got thought up...any more ideas, feedback all is welcome, looking for honest answers. Looking for basic order entry software
We sell our product directly to wholesalers and distributors. Currently our clients send us a PO that we enter into a spreadsheet to fulfill. I'd like to find existing software that would allow us to enter an order and accomplish the following.
-Create a unique order number for each entry
-Add notes/special instructions
-Allow status updates (placed, production, shipped, invoiced and paid)
-Export basic reports (units sold, date range, etc)
We only have 4 products to choose from so the platform can be fairly basic. All of the software that I've come across is much more robust than what we would need. Hiring a developer is an option but I was thinking that something like this would most likely already exist. Any suggestions that might be worth looking at?

Selling the remaining time on my lease
So I own a small business and have been operating on a 10 year lease for 3 1/2 years. The space next to me is small and the landlord has had a hard time leasing it. I received a call today telling me that there was a "corporate" interest in my location, and they asked me if I was interested in moving or simply exiting my lease. There are 6 1/2 years left on the lease.
My question is...If I were willing to exit my lease for a new business that is going to be leasing my space and the empty space next to me, how should I go about determining the value of my lease? I want to contact the landlord and say "Yes I will leave for $X"

I own a web development and software development firm. We are starting to get into the digital marketing space. I have learned a lot and am open to all the advice i can get on this forum. I work extremely hard and am always willing to learn.

2 Students Perish After School Bus Crash
I was greeted with this news this morning, 2 Houston area students are dead after an HISD bus went off the freeway and fell 15 feet. Many years ago I used to ride my bicycle around the very area where this crash happened as there was a shopping mall and big toy store nearby my friends and I would visit, very sad seeing it all of these years later on the news under these circumstances.
A school bus crash has left two high school students dead and two others and their bus driver seriously injured, Houston officials said.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. today after the bus hit and went over the guardrail on the freeway and flipped on the road below. A woman driving a Buick next to the bus hit it after thinking a car was driving into her lane, Houston Police Department spokesman Victor Senties told reporters at a news conference this morning.
"The bus driver attempted to over-correct and put it over the overpass," Senties told reporters of the bus.
Senties said the woman was detained by police but no citations or charges have been filed against her. There were four students, two girls and two boys, aboard the bus. One female student died at the scene and the other girl was declared dead at a hospital.
Law enforcement officials shut down a portion of the freeway pending an investigation, according to ABC station KTRK-TV in Houston. The students were headed to Furr High School.

College...College...College...
Well, it's my junior year in high school and it's time to look at colleges. The only issue is...I have no idea on earth what I'm going to do. I know for a fact I'm going to be going into business, like I really don't want to do anything else. I love the stock market and all that stuff. When I'm not doing business stuff 24/7 I feel so empty. Anyways, I have been looking at a lot of successful entrepreneurs and investors. Most of them have like liberal arts degrees for their bachelors. I want to be an entrepreneur, I love starting companies. I understand I should go for a bachelor's degree in whatever I want to pursue in business whether it's engineering or science in whatever, but what about an MBA? I heard you really shouldn't get one especially for entrepreneurs, but is that true?

A small, sleek and portable kitchen appliance that'd heat up your Mexican tortilla chips to that classic restaurant-style warmth.
The device would be a huge hit at parties, get-togethers, etc. but also for dinners, or something to better your midnight snack. This could spark a trend of having the tortilla chips with your dinner always be expectedly warm, too. Tortilla chips are bought practically bi-weekly in American homes, and my device could easily be tucked away in a cabinet. The customer base is there - build it, and they will come.

I've came across these solutions:

I'm not one to jump into starting political debates, but with the upcoming federal election in about 6 weeks this needs to be brought to the forefront. I get the impression that this guy and his advisers really do not understand how to read statistics. Do we as Canadians really want someone running the country that doesn't understand business (small, medium, and large)?
I'm not one to jump into starting political debates, but with the upcoming federal election in about 6 weeks this needs to be brought to the forefront. I get the impression that this guy and his advisers really do not understand how to read statistics. Do we as Canadians really want someone running the country that doesn't understand business (small, medium, and large)?

I am intrested in becoming a distributor for any foreign company (outside of the Netherlands. Inside Europe would be better to avoid import tax etc.) intrested in expanding their business in the Netherlands. Except from the style, products, marketing etc.

I don't know much about Drupal or any of it's extensions, but I have been using Yoast products for my WordPress sites for years and I absolutely love them, as well as do my clients.

How I got a thousand buyers with a single click
Hi all,
As we all know, getting new leads for your business is crucial, so most people do it by sharing articles, bookmarking and so on. Some of them try to speed up the process by buying a couple of worthless marketing gigs on Fiverr, but usually have no success with them.
But there is another way, called contact lead lists. While most of the providers just resell over-spammed lists over and over again, some of them are better than the rest. And when you use those providers' lists with mass email services, getting new clients can be a breeze.
Yes, I know, being sceptical is a must, but if the provider offers a guarantee, why not giving it a try? So, I decided to go for it with (expensive) Megaleads and got screwed. Then I tried much cheaper Promobrite (dotcom), bought my niche lead list and used their bulk emailing service, and after a couple of weeks, I got over a thousand buyers. Sure, some leads bounced back, but nevertheless, a good result after all. Not bad, right?
That's why I wanted to share this story here. With all those shady promo gigs out there, I'm just glad that I found a real and effective one who actually delivers the much needed results.

Starting a wholesaling into retail business - Advice please -

I am thinking of starting a business where I buy product in bulk and then sell it to a retailer.
If the end user is paying let's say $10
then I am working on selling it to the retailer for $6
What would be a sensible buy price for me?
Could a business like mine work on a buy price of $4 or would it need to be less considering possible bad debts?
I have never had a business like this before where I have to give 30 day accounts to small businesses so I am unsure what to expect.
In theory if I can buy a product and make 20% of the retail price in a situation like this and there is $20 per day sales that's $4 per day i'm making out of each shop.
x 7 days = $28 per week
x 100 shops = $2800 per week
Is there something wrong with my theory?

I think it would benefit business owners to have forum for exiting a business. Regardless how business started, at some point the owner has to exit. There are several options, like passing on to heirs, selling or, the least desirable, closing doors and walking away.

Business income vs. your income
So I'm going to LLC. My self and setup a business account at the bank. If I write my self a check to my self from my business account that counts as income I assume? What does all the money paid to the business count as my income?

I run an internet marketing company and we provide internet marketing services for individuals and businesses. These types of services include Web Design, Social Media, SEO, etc.
I am working with a new marketing director/partner and he is wanting to change how we do our service offering to more of a customized solutions instead of more of a cheap budgeted one like i had before, which is what i was doing and it was getting some hits, but nothing really significant, maybe $1,000 a month.
The thing is, in this industry Content Writing is the biggest thing, and normally you can find some content writers writing on a per word basis and many which write on a hourly basis. The problem is those cost between the two are HUGE, I mean triple the prices or higher. Im trying to find out is it best to bring on like a person that can do multiple things and pay them on an hourly basis or is it best ot have multiple people all paid on a PER ITEM basis. As the problem with per hour basis, is the direct cost of all my services are dependable upon their productivity, it can go up or down.
So, if you guys were running this type of company, how would you guys handle it, how would you build your team? If you go the hourly basis, how do you deal with the variable cost there associated with your services, as the only direct cost is the labor from your team, no actual ingredients or raw materials go into it.

and I have a healthy obsession with growing companies!
It all started when I decided to drop out of Colorado Tech’s software engineer program and start my own IT company.
Actually; hold that thought, Let me rewind a little further back in life before I found technology.
I was 19 when I started to study print advertising and ways to generate leads. I was trying to figure out a way I could generate leads with the Lansing State Journal which is a newspaper company in downtown Lansing Michigan.
I was working for a mortgage company at the time and was sick of being told “I should cold call if I wanted to make the big bucks; but who want’s to cold call? I hate the thought of cold calling let alone actually picking up the phone to piss some guy off I don’t even know.
So I decided to run the ad’s and get people to start calling me instead. Most people at the mortgage office would get 1 to 2 credit pulls per day if they were lucky. If you don’t know the mortgage industry a credit pull is the first thing you would do to start the loan process.
Once you have your credit pulled and the credit looks good, you can start to gather documents and information required to close the loan.
Once the loan closes normally we would get anywhere from $1500.00 to $6500.00 in commission.
So as I was saying… the Avg was 2 credit pulls per day and that was from calling all day long from the phone book.
The first day I ran the ad’s I pulled 13 credit reports and did more on my own than the entire company as a whole. I’d go to work in the day and when i’d get home i’d have 10 to 20 voice recordings of people looking for a mortgage.
Today I’m 33 and help people get leads by using landing pages and tools that I create with my team in order to suck in leads in any market.
As a CEO of a growing company I can promise you that success is closer than you think it is and if you’re willing to try your hardest you’ll climb any mountain.

New Small Business Tax Questions
I have a new recruiting company startup in Washington state, and we just launched a couple of months ago. I have two questions:
(1) Let's suppose the company has $50,000 of net profit in 2015, and I haven't personally taken any income from it yet. At the end of the year, that $50,000 will be taxed. However, if I pay those taxes and then pay myself $20,000 of that, it gets taxed again, correct? So it would make sense for me to pay myself out from that profit before the end of the year to avoid being double-taxed. Is that correct?
(2) Hypothetically, let's suppose the company's gross income in 2015 is $60,000, but the business expenses are $80,000 (mostly one-time startup expenses).
I understand that the $60,000 is untaxed (other than employer payroll taxes, unemployment etc), but does the other $20,000 of expenses roll over into 2016 for tax purposes? That is, I wouldn't have to pay taxes on up to $80,000 of income since I have $80,000 of business expenses. Does that reset in 2016, or is the first $20,000 the company makes in 2016 also untaxed even though the expenses were accrued the year before?
I appreciate any input!

I'm Shannon and I work in business development and marketing for an e-commerce startup called Wantboards. Basically, we connect consumers ("buyers") and local businesses ("sellers") together in a demand-based marketplace to complete transactions. Our goal is to help consumers get better deals and provide businesses with an ongoing outlet for finding new customers :). How to Structure Takeover of Small Private Company
Hi, folks. New user here looking for a little advice. My father and I are meeting with a guy tomorrow who is interested in exiting his small business. It's a family-owned construction company that's been around for 20 years or so. The seller is a "serial entrepreneur" and wants to step away from this business to concentrate on several other small companies he runs.
I've read up on how to valuate a small business (0-3x discretionary earnings) and think I have a handle on that. What I don't have a clue about is how to structure the actual deal if we all decide to move forward. Based on prior discussions with the seller (we have history), we think he'd be open to some kind of royalty payment for some length of time, as opposed to a lump-sum payment up front.
If we went that route, would it be a percentage of sales? A percentage of something else? What kind of percentage? For how long - fixed term? Until an agreed amount is paid? Is there some other arrangement that would serve better (that doesn't involve an up-front payment; my dad is retiring, and I'm recently laid off)?

I have started small white phenyl making industry. But, now, I am getting hard to find distributors for my new product. I have no idea how to find distributors.

Cash Register and Credit Card Reader
Hello,
I am opening my first business next month at a mall, operating a mall cart. I am very excited about this new adventure! I am curious however, about how the cash register's credit card reader will work. I have no experience in this, and I am wondering if I need my cash register to be connected to the internet in order for the credit/debit card reader to work? I was watching some videos online and it looks like a lot of the registers come with WAN inputs, so does that mean internet would be required? Is it better to go with a cash register with a credit card reader, or use something like "Square" on my android phone? I haven't bought a register yet, so if anyone could recommend something, it may be useful. The mall that I'm going to do business at doesn't seem too up to date, and they take forever in answering my questions. But I got a fairly good price on a month to month basis, so I'm happy with it. I am just really anxious about the cash register being able to accept credit and debit cards, and if I would need internet to accept credit cards. If anyone could answer my question, it would be great.

I know there are a bunch of posts on here about logo design so I started to looking into some of the option. What I don't understand is the formats in which logos come in. What should I be looking for if I want a simple logo for business cards, letterhead, presentations etc.?

Anyone have used webinars to great effect?
Sorry if this has already been a thread. I need an answer to this because i keep getting flip flop answers. Some say they do very well with webinars and others say webinars are not good for making sales, just sharing content. Can you tell me what your experience has been and what things you have used to get people on your webinars?
