I just recently got access to a small office space in a busy business area in Queens NYC. I am friends with the owner of the building for many years and hes letting me lease the space for only $600/month. Normally similar office space in the building costs $2000+/month due to it being in a prime location. I told him I wanted to start a business so he will let me lease with this low rate for a year to set up then charge market rate after the year if I choose to continue the lease (Should be about $2000 ans its a small office). The area is highly populated middle working class neighborhood And the building is a 5 story building with my office in the back area of second floor.
However, I don't know what I should do with this. Seems like a good opportunity but I have no business in mind. The building also has a real estate broker, 2 lawyers office, a security guard licensing school, medical office, travel agency, insurance broker, accounting and a tutorial for students.
This seems like an excellent opportunity to establish a business in a prime location. What kind of business would you start given this opportunity?
As for me, I currently work as HR making $45,000/ year.
