How can i sign up my business in new york state

okay I currently live in new York and I want to register my business as an LLC and I just don't know how to do this. I do not want to use LegalZoom because I don't want to pay for something I can do. I am using this website Division of Corporations, State Records and Uniform Commercial Code, NYS Dept. of State. I just want to know how much it would cost and how hard it would be for me to do it with help from you guys.
